I've gotten a couple of emails and texts asking where I've been. I'm back after a busy two months. Some great things have taken place, and some others were a bit scary and inconvenient, but we got through them.
May Travels
In May, I had the joy of traveling twice.
First, I went to Virginia for my nephew's wedding. It was a beautiful and heartfelt celebration of love, family, and new beginnings.
Right after that, I went to LA for a women's podcasting summit. This summit was incredibly inspiring and motivating for me to continue with my podcast. I had the privilege of witnessing over 16 successful women who have been running their podcasts for over eight years share their stories of failures and triumphs. Meeting so many powerful and amazing women podcasters was a testament to the strength, resilience, and creativity within our community. I’m still on a big mission of closing the gender gap in the podcasting world and supporting more women’s voices through podcasting.
Each speaker brought a unique perspective, sharing invaluable insights into their journeys. They spoke candidly about their challenges, from technical glitches to imposter syndrome, and how they overcame these obstacles. Their stories were not just about success but about perseverance, adaptability, and the courage to keep going even when the going gets tough. It was a reminder that behind every successful venture are countless untold stories of hard work and determination.
First In Person Event in Five years:
In between these travels, I was preparing for my first in-person event in five years. It was epic!
The energy, the group, the new information, and teachings—everything was truly transformational! (See photos above.)
It was so successful that we will be repeating it from November 7th through the 9th this year, here in Santa Fe, New Mexico. If you want to make more money, make a bigger difference, and take your business to a new level, I highly encourage you to take advantage of an early bird special we have going on right now. This event was a dream come true. The atmosphere was electric, filled with eager participants from all over the US ready to learn and grow. We covered a range of topics, from business strategies and personal development to innovative marketing techniques and of course many of the success principles of Napoleon Hill.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees sharing how the event had provided them with the clarity and motivation they needed to take their businesses to new heights.
The Bad and Ugly
However, life threw a curveball my way. The day after the event, during the first week of June, I woke up with a swollen eye. I thought it was just a stye, but by day two, the swelling did not go down. Luckily, I followed my instinct and went to the doctor, even though I almost talked myself out of it.
It turned out that the infection started traveling in my face and had turned into orbital cellulitis. If this goes untreated, it can become life-threatening. This had me shaken up for a couple of days because I kept wondering what could have happened if I had not gotten it checked: hospital for sure, operation? How many days in the hospital? Could the infection have traveled further?
I had to thank my 16-year-old dog, who, the night before I went to LA, also woke up with a swollen eye. Hers was an infected tooth in just one day it abscessed, infections travel fast. That incident, plus a colleague of ours last year who ended up in the hospital from a tooth infection that traveled to his brain and, unfortunately, did not make it, were all in my subconscious. These stories made me want to get checked. It was the doctor who told me how serious it was.
As I lay in bed, resting and recovering, I had time to reflect on how fortunate I was to have listened to my body and sought medical help. It was a stark reminder of the importance of health and well-being, and how often we take it for granted. It also reinforced the value of being attuned to our bodies and trusting our instincts.
Anyway, I rested for about a week before I could get back into the swing of things. Then, I've been getting ready for our six-week travel back home to Spain. All of this is why I have not made the time to connect and keep you updated with it all.
Getting ready for the next 6 week adventure
Preparing for our trip to Spain has been a whirlwind of activity. There’s something incredibly special about going back home, reconnecting with roots, and spending time with loved ones. Spain holds a special place in my heart, and I’m excited to share this journey with you all. It’s also part of my desired lifestyle that I’ve been working so hard for these past years. I will be working part time while I’m there while still enjoying my time in my beloved country.
Yesterday, we also had a fabulous lunch with the SF Hive Networking group that I’ve been running this year that continues to grow.
If you are in Santa Fe or Albuquerque, I highly suggest you check out the site and register for one of the July/August lunches (just scroll all the way to the bottom) at sfhive.com.
Networking events like these are more than just an opportunity to exchange business cards; We’ve had people attend our lunches that just moved to town, retirees wanting to get out of the house and try a new restaurant on a Friday and professionals that come out for their lunch. They are a chance to build meaningful connections, share ideas, and find inspiration from like-minded individuals. The SF Hive Networking group has been a cornerstone of my professional community, offering support, collaboration, resources and the chance to grow together.
Reflecting on these past two months, I realize that amidst all the hustle and bustle, several key lessons have stood out to me:
Go More with the Flow: Instead of having everything planned out, it's essential to plan but also leave room for intuition and take inspired action. Life is unpredictable, and sometimes the best moments come from unexpected opportunities. Embracing flexibility can open doors to experiences we might have otherwise missed.
Be Intentional: With everything you do, set an intention. For my event, I set an intention for: the number of people I wanted, the revenue, the type of people, etc., and it all came true. Being clear about what you want to achieve creates a powerful focus that can help turn your goals into reality.
Connection is the Highest Currency: Over the past two months, I've met many new people, reconnected with old friends, family, and colleagues. In the end, what matters most is our connection with other human beings. These relationships enrich our lives, providing support, joy, and a sense of belonging.
Listen to Your Intuition and Instincts: My experience with orbital cellulitis shook me, but it also made me very thankful for my instincts and intuition, which saved me from something much worse. Trusting yourself can sometimes be the most crucial decision you make.
As I prepare for our trip to Spain, I am filled with gratitude for these experiences and the lessons they have taught me. Life is a beautiful, unpredictable journey, and it’s the challenges and triumphs alike that shape us into who we are.
What have you been up to this start of the summer? I would love to hear about your experiences, reflections, and any lessons you've learned along the way. Let's continue to inspire and support each other as we navigate this journey called life.
